There is no a Quechua word that can be translated exactly as hello or hi, but there are many that fulfill the function of greeting and starting a conversation:

- Napaykuyki (I greet you), for example: Wayqey, napaykuykin (I greet you my brother)
- Imaynalla (How are you?), for example: Imaynalla panay? (How are you my sister?)
