What does Ancash mean in Quechua?

Ancash is a well-known region of Peru, that word comes from the Quechua ‘Anqas‘ or ‘Ankhas‘ which means Azul.

At present, this word is no longer used to refer to the color blue, since many prefer to use the word in Spanish, just like the word ‘pawqar’ (color), many Quechua-speakers simply say ‘color’, it is what some call Quechuañol (Quechua-Spanish).
